Carnival Valor CAT 1A rooms-which are bigger. How many portholes?

I am booking the Sept. 4 cruise on the Carnival Valor and am wondering which category 1A room is bigger on forward ship, deck 1 and deck 2. It looks like room 1207 is smaller than 1211, even though both say 185 sq feet i find it hard to believe.

Does anyone know if the category 1A forward rooms on deck 2 are a little bigger than on deck 1?

Room 2217 also looks bigger than 2211. Anyone know?

Do these rooms all have 2 portholes or just 1? I read somewhere that some have 2 portholes, some have only 1 for the outside cabins.
Let me know fellow cruisers!

Also, which side has the best view? I'm cruising the western carribean and am wondering if I should stay on the right or left side of the ship for the best view.

Hello, If you go onto ship deck plans you can tell where your room is and how many portholes, etc has. I was on Valor last year in 1212 It is a room for 1 with 2 portholes and lots of space. It was bigger than the insides with no windows. I loved it.

2217 is indeed slightly larger than 2211, due to the curvature of the hull. Someone told me at least 10 s.f. difference, but hard to measure.

As previously said, all port hole cabins have two port holes.

These cabins are still larger than regular insides. I love them.

As to which side it really does not much difference as some ports you dock port side and other starboard and it can change from one sailing to the next.

The square footage of any of the cabins, (especially those up in the bow where the hull curves in) is very hard to measure, and I think they note that the square footage listed is approximate. The only problem I've ever noted with some of the cabins up in the bow like these, is that when underway, you'll most likely hear the waves slapping the hull. That gets pretty loud sometimes, so you might want to take your earplugs!

I had one of these cabins on my last cruise on the Carnival Liberty I loved it, yes I did hear the waves though it was a large cabin and perfect for one person. Side of ship doesn't matter I think either is fine.

A diamond symbol means two port holes cabins: 2211, 2212 2216, 2217 on main deck, 1207, 1208, 1211 on the Rivera deck.
