Cozumel Beach Day for Kids

Hi,

My wife, daughter, SIL and 9 yo granddaughter and 5 yo grandson will be going to Cozumel in June on the Carnival Liberty. My wife and I have been to Cozumel many times but this is the first time with young kids.

On our previous stops we've done some island touring and deep water snorkeling but this will be a little much for the grandkids. It is also the only chance to have a "beach day" on this itinerary.

So my question is: What is the best location for a family beach day in Cozumel? We would like a nice beach, kid toys and activities, food and non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. An all-inclusive would be nice but not required.

My wife and I have been to Chankanaab about 10 years ago but it left a bit to be desired. Have the facilities improved there.

Boy, cruising changes when you have kids.

Just came back from Cozumel 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure of the all the names of the bars / restaurants on this strip but I do remember Carlos and Charlies on this strip. We didn't visit C&C's we were right next door.

All the beaches were free with free beach chairs and an umbrella. I guess they just want you to buy drinks or something to eat. We bought two and stayed in the water most of the time. They even allowed us to take out paddle boats for free.

There is a water gym? I guess that's what they call it. A huge floating climbing wall and a couple other things. They ONLY drawback was the seaweed on the ocean floor and the water wasn't very clear. I didn't like that but they say if you cross to the other side of the pier the there is no seaweed and the water is a little clearer.

Mike , on our cruise in 2009 we went to Chankanaab Park and did some snorkeling although it was nice I wouldn�t recommended it for a family beach day. We found it very hard to get into and out of the water and as far as beach thing there was very little. I would think you want somewhere where the kids could play around in the water and at least have the option of some water sports. Food and drink is always a big plus. When I was researching there were all kinds of fun beach places to just kick back and enjoy the day. Paradise beach, Nachi Cocom & Mr. Sancho�s . Here is a link that lists many.
