I am a scube diver. On my cruise I plan on doing some diving. I keep a good size dive knife in my dive gear, it is a safety item that is needed when diving. At the airport there is never a question as London as it is not in my carry on bag. Will there be a problem with ship security?

I read this from one of the other sites who have avid divers. They bring thier dive knife but have to surrender it to security. When you get ready to leave for your dive, you need to go down to security to pick it up. When you return from your dive you need to give it back to security and you can pick it up when exiting the ship at the end of the cruise. They will not let you keep it with you while on the ship.

What Dina said!
Here's the Carnival info about restricted items: "Knives with blades longer than four (4) inches ( Recreational dive knives are allowed but must be held in the custody of the Guest Services Manager or Chief Security Officer and must be checked out/in by the owner for dive excursions during the cruise.)" Here's the link: Frequently Asked Questions, Information | FAQs | Carnival Cruise Lines Have a wonderful cruise,

Ditto on the depositing your dive knife on the security then claiming it after your trip. I know this for a fact because I've been diving too and I don't dive without my trusted dive knife so I always carry it around.
