Default Cozumel or Nassau? First time cruiser....

Hey folks, just joined today and grateful for a place to get my many questions answered. I'm surprising hubby with our first cruise on Father's Day and as I look at cruises, I'm learning I don't know what I'm doing! I have a travel agent friend booking it for me (agents don't charge money for booking cruises, right?) and my sister is answering a lot of questions, too. We'll be doing a low budget 4 night Carnival cruise but can't decide between porting in Nassau or Cozumel. Which would you prefer and why?

Any other handy tips you have for me would be great, too!

Welcome to Cruisemates!

Cozumel is better by far. It's in the Caribbean, Nassau is not.
Beautiful island, beautiful water. Lot's of choices for excursions as well.

Travel Agents don't charge you to book through them. Some may have a cancellation fee.

Enjoy your cruise.

Welcome Aboard!

I also have to second Cozumel over Nassau. There are far more things to do in Cozumel. The snorkeling on Palancar or Columbia reefs is great. There is excellent shopping and it is fun to tour the island.

I'll take Cozumel every time over Nassau.

Take care,
Mike

Welcome to the family Peachy!

I like both, but would probably opt for spending the day at Atlantis in Nassau, going through "The Dig",and the Aquarium, then shopping on Front Street.

Cozumel is great for water related sports, jeep touring and it has good shopping as well'

Figure out what Dad would like and go from there....btw..feel free to ask a zillion questions, and we all will jump in with opinions and advice

Being that this is your first cruise, I would go with Cozumel. In my opinion, there's more to do in Cozumel verses Nassau.

Good choice.

When we were in Nassau in March, we didn't even leave the ship.
