Hello
This is my second cruise, but first time on Carnival. I will be sailing on the Victory in Aug 2011 and was wondering if anyone knew if I would be able to get a big table for me and my family? There are 16 of us traveling together. I have read through a lot of the threads here and have found a lot of very useful info. Thanks in advance.
Well, welcome to Cruisemates!! You will not be able to have everyone sit together, you can arrange through your travle agent, to put in a request to have two tables side by side it possible.
The largest tables will seat ten. Once you go aboard, see if you can get to the dining room, assigned to you, it will be printed on your sail and sign card. Check your tables. If you have an issue, check with the mait're d'
You will really enjoy Carnival..what ship?

Check with the Maitre D as early as possible. There will be a time and location in the first days Fun Times (Daily Activity Newsletter) for Dining Inquiries.
Welcome to Cruisemates Dragonkeper, When you booked this cruise, did everyone in your group book with the same travel agent? If so, hopefully she grouped you all together for dinner?? Even when booking, you are requesting a large table or two for everyone and they do try to do that, but if not, like Dwayne mentioned, go see the Madre'd when you board. First check your sign/sail pass and see what table you have been assigned and go check it out in the dinning room, then if it isn't to your liking, see him and see what can be done.
Carnival doesnt have anything on their booking form to request table size. If you are linked together and all have the same time, early or late, they will seat you close .. but you really cannot request table size. Some said well I got my TA to add a note to my booking. The maitre d' does the seating the night before your cruise and I cant see him reading thru all the booking notes.. so you really cant predict table size.
when you board, I would go and check out table sizes and where they are located, and if you dont like them, the maitre d' opens around 1 pm and you can request a change. I saw someone post they had a ten top and a two top completely set apart from the other ten .. so they had to go get it changed.
Thanks Dwayne, Donna and Flowers. When I get there I will see where they have us. We all booked our cruise together through the same TA and are set for early dinner, I just hope they put our tables close to each other. I will definitely check on this as soon as we check in and then go see the maitre d' to see what he can do if we are not seated close together.
Our family does a "Family Reunion" cruise nearly every year, and sometimes we have 15 or even 20 total going. When we've got more than enough for one table, Carnival has ALWAYS seated us at two large tables, right next to each other! I suggest that you go see the Maitre 'd after boarding, and check your accommodations in the dining room. I'd bet they'll be just fine, but just in case, you can get the problem straightened out on the first day. (When you go to the Maitre 'd, be sure to bring along the list of tables that are assigned to your group. Check the table assignment on your sign-n-sail cards.)
Have a GREAT cruise.
