Going on a cruise aboard Carnival Valor Western Carribean and would like opinions of what not to miss. Or... what to definately miss!!! First Carnival cruise, been on Royal Carribean, Norwegian and Celebrity in past. Two kids 13 and 10.
Let us know where you are going specifically - I assume Cozumel at least.
Are you repeating ports you have done with other lines?
Carnival has a good kids program, your children should have fun, you too.

Celebrity: Summit 2011

We are going to Roatan ,Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Belize.
Already booked swimming with dolphins for Cozumel and snorkeling in G.C. (been there before).
Flying to Miami from Seattle after driving from Vancouver.
looking for something cheap to do in Rotan considering cave tubing in Belize.
Any problems or procedures to save time with embarkation or excurtions I should know about? Some reviews I have read talk about people having problems but I have never found it that bad, Sure you have to wait a while but patience is a virtue....right?

Absolutely right! Patience IS a virtue! All you really need to board is your Passport and a credit card. If you have those, you'll be fine .

We went on our 9th Carnival Cruise on the Valor April 3rd. Your kids should have no problem having fun on this ship . This is the time of year family"s and lot's of kids and on summer break and I am sure there will be 1,000 or more kids on this ship. 24 hour ice cream and pizza. The only pool they won't be able to go in is the one on the back of the ship which is adults only. The food is very good with a deli and burriro bar. Try the chicken burrito. As for the ports. Grand Cayman-Stingray City is a must do. Roatan Honduas. Carnival has built a $62 million dollar complex with dock space for two ships. All the shops and a beautiful beach. You will have more fun here just going to the beach and the kids will love the flying chairs. No reason for excursions here. You cannot find a better thing to do here. Belize - It is a must to do a excursion at this port. It takes about a half and hour for the tender to get you to shore and keep in mind it's summer in the Carribean hot- hot- hot. Water excursion here would be great like Cave Tubeing. Do not leave the shopping complex on you own it is very unsafe here. Cozumel - take the kids to the beach. Bring a couple of 12 packs of soda for the kids. It will save you lot's of dollars on soda cards which run $50 bucks each. Have a great Cruise Ed
Thank you so much for the website vruised 1014! I can't wait to take the plunge in the ocean there!
How far do those "Flying beach chairs" go. Is it worth $12 a head? I think I'll walk but my wife said it could be fun....
Snorkeling there any good? Do they serve a lunch there or do you have to buy something? On RC at Labadee they had a great BBQ luch for everybody.
This is our hang out at the beach day but the kids will want to do something for a few hours I'm sure.
Me.... give me a beach chair and a cool drink and I'm good!!!!!! -Juice
