Both of these cruises are in October and we're having a hard time deciding which to take.
Option 1: 8 days on the Carnival Freedom
Ft. Laurderdale-Antigua-Tortola- Nassau
Option 2: 7 days on Carnival Liberty
Miami-Half Moon Cay-St. Thomas-San Juan-Grand Turk
We've done the cruise on the Liberty before and had a great time. We're considering it again because we LOVED HMC. We rented a cabana and it was awesome. We also didn't get to stop in Grand Turk because of the hurricane that had gone through a month or so prior to that cruise. So it would be a bit different.
I love all the ports mentioned! I too havs sailed on the Liberty, and I just loved it. HMC is a picture postcard, and you can beach it again, at Grand Turk, or use the huge pool.

We are going on the Freedom in 2 weeks where we will stop at Antigua, St.Thomas, Nassua and Tortola so I am hoping these will be great ports. But in looking at your list, just the fact that Half Moon Cay is on the intinerary would sway me that way. My day on HMC was nearly the best of any port I have been at. If I feel differently when I get back from my upcoming cruise, I will modify my opinion. Bottom line, I'm sure it will be a great cruise with either itinerary.
Truely a tough decision, both itinaries look wonderful. I would also lean towards the itinary with HMC, just because I too enjoy the private beach days, but Trip also pointed out that there are great beaches at Grand Turk as well.
I would go for option #1, because you get an extra day on the ship.

The price is only $100 more for option 1. The biggest problem is always airfare (you can't get anywhere from Louisville). Option 1 is going to be $500 out of Cincinnati and option 2 is $400 out of Louisville. Cincy is about an hour drive, which is kind of a bummer. I think at this point we are leaning towards option 1 because the Liberty is going in drydock on October 8th and that is the day we would get off the boat.
Hi
I am new to CruiseMates, however have read it for years.
Just wanted to let you know about an airlines that offers service between Louisville and Ft Lauderdale at reasonable prices,Vision Airlines. I know of several sources for travel between Ft lauderdale and Miami, including Carnival shuttle.(We always fly to Ft Lauderdale due to the cheap air rates we get from Spirit) including Carnival shuttle. Hope this may be of some help to you.
