New to Southern Caribbean

Hi everyone:
Just joined Cruisemates and have a few questions about my next cruise I need a little help.
I will be on the carnival miracle march 17th 2012 for an 8 day cruise to the southern carribbean stopping at Grand Turks,Dominican Republic,Aruba and Curacao do you need to tender any of these ports.
I would like to know a little about the ship. I will be mid ship upper deck.
I have been on 9 cruises but never in the southern caribbean what to see and what to do. ( Cant Wait

The southern itinerary is my favorite..I have not been to the DR, but,all the other ports, you do not tender. Mid ship upper, will be a great location for you.

Grand Turk is a nice beach day, or a nice pool day. Fun shops,and a Margaritaville....Carnivall also has a large terminal filled with a very large inventory of ships items.

We did this cruise last November and IMHO the cave tour in DR was awesome. A little scary at first as the entrance was guarded by a guy with a machine gun. The drive out there was also not too pleasant either. We drove though an area of the city which to me was just "Slums". MAYBE you might bypass this as we docked in a different port than normal.

We did the tour in Curacao of where they make the Curacao liquor. Recomendation, mix the chocolate sample with the coffe sample!

Aruba we de a sunset boat tour, nothing spectacular but the rum punch was free, and we had a really good time

Grand Cayman, I think we have been there 3 times now and always hit the Margaritaville there too !

You should dock in Aruba and Curacao. The dock in Curacao is a couple years old and they also have some shopping in that area too, good to pick up any last minute type things. Not sure about the other two ports as to if you have to tender or are able to dock.

None of these ports are "Tender" ports. All have docks.
