Formal nights

Going on my first cruise next week and I am starting to pack already. Just curious how I would find out what nights will be formal in the MDR and which won't. In case anyone is going and already knows the answer off hand it will be the Carnival Fascination departing on Sept 22nd.

My next question is if the alternative places to eat like the buffet are "come as you are" or do they expect you to be in some sort of attire? I don't care for dressing up, but plan on doing it once or twice for the other party I am going with.

The last thing I can think of to ask is if the pools close at a certain time or can I jump in the pool after a sad late night in the casino.

If doing a 4 - 5 night cruise there will be (1) cruise elegant night and usually the 2nd night of the cruise.

Lido deck dining is casual..... shorts or slacks are acceptable for men and a nice shirt.

As for the late night pool.... they are usually covered with net and or drained in the evenings, so hopefully you will not have drank too much and decide to go for a late night dip !

Thanks for the info, I don't drink so I would be acting a fool sober. Makes sense they would close the pools though.
