Cruising with a 4 & 2 year old
Hi,
To the people that have cruised with young kids, or any others that may have an opinion. What type of room did you book, and did you feel you had booked the right one or wished you'd spent more and gone with a bigger room? Thanks, Jeff |
With Carnival, most all the cabins are the same size, so unless you get a OV on a conquest class or a suite, it doesnt really make a difference size wise what cabin you book.
Other than considering connecting cabins for more space, and paying for two cabins, book whatever sounds good to you. |
when my children were younger and of that age cruising, we all managed to survive in a regular oceanview stateroom..... two lower beds for the adults and two upper berths or a rollaway and upper for the kids. Little ones can be messy and make for more work by all staff onboard the ship i.e. stateroom attendant, dining staff, etc.....You will appreciate all they do to make you and your children happy and make things easy for you.... so please don't reduce the gratuities because of their age ! ;)

This is JMHO, but I would not book a balcony cabin with children this young. As you probably know, they're smarter than they look :D and could easily bypass the locks and climb on the balcony furniture !
I'd book an oceanview cabin so you have some sunlight. A cabin that sleeps 4 will have either 2 overhead bunks (along with 2 "on the floor" beds) or 1 bunk and a pull out sofa. Your Room Steward can furnish you with guard rails as/if needed. If there's a pull out sofa bed you might want to put both of them there. Have a wonderful cruise! |

I hope someone who has more experience will come along and help you :)! |
We are cruising with our boys (4 and 2) in January 2012 on the Destiny. We've booked a balcony room. We've cruised with our oldest twice before, when he was 6months and then 18months. We enjoyed the feeling of a bigger room with the light from the balcony doors. We were able to enjoy the sun/stars when our wee man was napping/sleeping. You'll probably have booked by the time we cruise with the 2 of them.
