Well, we had a great cruise on the Dream! My wife and I really liked the decor and we had a nice suite, #7333.
Was a 45 minute ride from MCO to the dock and when we checked in we were on the ship within 25 minutes. We could not go to our stateroom till approx 1:30 so hung out on the lido deck and made reservations for the steak house on Thurs.
We found the food in the MDR was about the same as other cruises, some good and some not so good but the steak house was awesome, worth every bit of the $30.00 each but with a nice bottle of wine and tip it was $118.00. The steak was cooked to my liking and the service was fantastic!!!! Plan at least a 1 1/2 hour experience.
The entertainment was so so but again we did not make all the shows. Our cabin steward was great and always called us by name which I was amazed that he could remember our names plus other guest. We requested having our room clean early the days we were out to sea because those days we like to go to our stateroom and just lounge out and he always had our cabin made up early.
We didn't do a lot of shore excursions but one we did was the Dolphin Encounter and normally from past experience the cruise line would have their crew taking the pictures but this one, the people that were taking the pictures were not the crew and the prices were extremely high. As I remember a CD was over $100.00 and a 4 x 6 single photo was $26.95. Everyone was complaining about the cost and most people did not buy.
Thought the posts of were nice and we had never been to Belize or Roatan before and we really enjoyed them. At Roatan, it was raining so hard and we were to get off the ship at 10:00 but wasn't able to until about 11:30 and they had to cancel all of the excursions.
I am a smoker and in the casino, the smell of smoke was almost too much for me. They should have a better ventilation system in there. Very limited areas to smoke. You were able to smoke on open decks on one side of the ship and it wouldn't bother me if they did not allow smoking inside at all as long as they had smoking areas outside as they do. No more smoking in stateroom after Dec and that fine with me because we never smoke in our cabin anyway.
All in all, we both thought that this was one of the better cruises we have taken out of the 8 that we have taken with CCL. LOVE THE SHIP!
Hope this post wasn't too long Trip.
