I thought I would just vent for a sec... I booked out a cruise with a small handful of friends. They all have rooms and are set to go.... I on the other hand lost my room as I didn't pay it in full right off the bat. When I went to pay in full, room was given away and the cruise is full.
I paid another 250.00 deposit, and am now wait-listed.
Between my calls every 1/2 hour to see if space has opened, I have been told many different things as far as my "placement" on the list.
I've been "next" and "second" so many times it's starting to bother me.
Now I have till tomorrow evening to pray for a cancelation so I can go with the friends who booked the cruise with me.
I dont have the luxury of going to the dock and just checking as my last flight chance for a reasonable fair ends tomorrow evening.

I’m confused…. When you booked you put down a down payment right? If so you had until a certain date to pay the rest off, why didn’t you? If you didn’t give a deposit you never had a reservation in the first place. Either way no blame can be placed on the cruise line.

Sounds like someone didn't book a cruise, sounds like someone was waiting for the cheapest possible rate before booking. The story doesn't make sense.

Unless the cruise was close to sailing, right off the bat, was not needed....final payment is expected, 60/75 days prior. You had to, attempt to make your final payment after the close date, and the room was given away, correct?

Even if there is a cancellation, you have would have to pay single supplement, unless you have another friend who wants to cruise. Also realize, a cancellation, could be in a cabin, that is above your comfort level, financially. I wish you luck. A lesson learned I guess

It sounds as if the OP thought that the $100 was a deposit, not realizing that they had not paid a true deposit amount and therefore had not really booked a cabin. I hope it works out, but I have my doubts.
