Carnival Magic: March 4th Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Cozumel
Hi everyone! My husband and I are going on our 2nd cruise ever in 2 months! We will be traveling on the new Carnival Magic. I have read many mixed reviews of the Carnival Magic. If you have traveled on the Magic recently I would love to hear about your experience!!!! My husband gets motion sickness fairly easily and I have read many comments about motion issues due to thruster problems.
Also, if you will also be traveling on the Carnival Magic on the March 4th cruise I would love to get to know you!
I was on the Magic's innaugural in the Med in May..I had no issues with any undue motion during my 9 days onboard. The food and entertainment was very good..In the Med, you don't have the ship time to enjoy, like you will in the Caribbean...The pool, we did enjoy one day, and the slide, looked awesome.
The cabin had good storage, and we had plenty of room to maneuver, and the balcony was wonderful, for a nap and views.
Go,and experience what the ship has to offer...one persons concerns, rolls off the back of others..I don't think you will be disappointed.

You may be unaware of this.....this sailing is also the John Heald Bloggers Cruise 5 (BC5)
You may or may not want to be a part of all the festivities that a BC entails. You can get alot of details by reading all the stuff at John Heald's Blog and at his FB page as well as the many FB pages for the ship. If you want to be a part of "the group" you can sign up officially with Johns blog via a link on his page.
We have a group of Cruisemates on that sailing, too. Just search for John Heald or Bloggers.
As for the ship, we were on it in November. Since we have sailied alot we dont notice the motion. It is best to plan ahead and get any medication that would help.
There were (and still may be) issues with the AFT thrusters. This simply means that they need a tug to get alongside and to maintain position when anchored. There is some speculation about the ports on this sailing and whether the problem will be fixed in time or if the ports will be affected.
You can read our CM member Snoozeman on here for reviews of the November sailing.

Welcome to Cruisemates. There are 349 bloggers on this cruise at last count. I do have three Magic reviews on my blog if you want to read them. I'm not sure if the thrusters are fixed or not...they are still using a tug in Galveston to dock. The mechanical issues won't effect your FUN on board.
We actually have a pretty active roll call thread here on Cruisemates for this sailing.
You might as well sign up for the Blogger's Thingy. It doesn't cost anything, you'll get some free stuff, and you don't have to attend any of the activities if you don't want to.
We've spent 21 days on Carnival Magic so far, and loved everyone of them, but there weren't any thruster issues then. Still, I don't think that is that big of a deal. Magic is stopping in Grand Cayman, and the ship couldn't do that without thrusters.
I personally really enjoyed the Magic. The waterslides are great, there are more hot tubs than normal, and I really loved the BBQ on sea days. No extra seasickness here. There is a review and podcast review of it on our website, if you are interested. Have a blast!
Hey everyone
I'm new to Cruisemates but am going on BC5. Looking forward to meeting everyone and having an awesome time.
The only things I'm worried about is being able to participate in the Blogger's excursion as well as tendering in GC. I use a motorized wheelchair and it weighs about 85 lbs - that's without the batteries! Add me in it and thats a WHOLE LOTTA weight!

See y'all in Galveston in about 49 days!
Welcome to Cruisemates.
I didn't know they set the Bloggers excursion at GC. It kind of surprises me, most assumed it would be in Cozumel. I guess I better go check

I am sorry for the confusion - that was two different things - the last I heard the BE was to be in Coz....I'm worried about being able to attend that due to transportation issues. I'm ALSO worried about tendering in GC. I didn't mean for it to come out the way it did :-)
Could not find where to sign up for John's blogger ... but once again got lost in his blogs and after 3 hours or endless and totally entertaining reading.... i am back here on Cruisemates ...
48 days.... they will go so slowly - then my 7 days will fly by
it's just not right !!!!
