Park n cruise in jacksonville

Can anyone tell me about best hotels in jacksonville for park n cruise? We have had great experiences and some bad experiences with park and cruise at various ports. Once we had to wait a long time for the van to show up because we were off the ship so early...like at 7am. Thanks for any info you might have!

Hubby & I cruised out of jacksonville last nov. & stayed at jacksonville plaza & suites......the price was great $70.00.....including a nice clean room, a good breakfast, parking for our car while we were gone,& a round-trip stuttle to port & back......we liked it so much we are staying there again in dec. when we cruise.

I also stayed at Jacksonville Inn and Suites last week prior to our cruise. Hotel was great, staff was very nice. Will definately stay there again when we cruise out of Jacksonville the next time. It appears to be a Microtel sold and now with a new name. It is set up just like a Microtel. It is about 8 or 9 miles to the port..very simple to find the port from there also. We also discovered a parking lot for cruise parking that was just outside the cruise terminal for parking at about half the rate in the Carnival cruise parking lot. The guys there will shuttle you on over to the port quickly from there and when we disembarked...they were sitting there waiting on us without having to call them. We were not allowed to disembark from this ship until around 820 or so (we always do self disembarkation so we are some of the first off the ship).
