Smile Carnival Conquest Aft Extended Balcony

I'm new to this site, but I will be sailing on the Carnival Conquest out of New Orleans on March 11, 2012. I am planning to book an Aft Extended Balcony cabin, which I've never had before. My question is whether an extended balcony on deck 6 (category 8M - 6456)) or Deck 8 (category 8N - 8452) would be better. I'd prefer to be on Deck 8 but I wasn't sure if the view would be better from Deck 6 since you are not looking over the Deck 6 & 7 aft balconies like you would on Deck 8. Also, are the rooms on these two decks the same size as other regular balcony rooms on the ship. We have a party of 3, so I wanted to make sure there would be a couch in these rooms. Finally, does anyone have pictures of these balconies or the view from them? Thanks for all the help.

We like the 8N's. Conquest is a great ship. I don't think the cabin is equipped with what you would think of as a couch for a 3rd to sleep on.

Welcome to Cruisemates!

I agree with Phil&Liz. IMHO the 8N's are the best especially on the Conquest. I've sailed the Conquest 10 times half in an 8N.

You will have the occasional scooting noise from chairs above, but you will be above everyone else in balconies and only one deck below the FOOD! Great location.

Aft rooms are the only way to go. The best view and the most privacy. Remember, the only people in the corridor near your room are the people who have aft cabins, and there are very few aft cabins.

The extended aft cabins on deck 8 have a single convertible sleeper.

Default Extended Balcony Cabin

Thank you for all the helpful information concerning the aft cabins. We are definitely booking the extended balcony cabin and can't wait for our cruise.

We booked the aft balcony on the Conquest this September as well. We always book balconies, but this will be the first time doing the Aft Balconies.

Can't wait.
