I was on this cruise as well and was in The Punchliner comedy club waiting for the 10:45 show to start. At about 10:30, it felt like we were scraping against something and the ship was jerking and the glass was shaking, and we could hear what sounded like scraping. I began to think about my kids at home and my life jacket! My husband and I left Punchliners to get to an area where we were not in an enclosed room (of course I thought about the Concordia and those who were trapped -and I freaked out a bit). The next day we were talking to others who stayed at the show and said when they asked the staff at the comedy club, the staff told them that this was normal and it was just the stabilizers. I've been on 4 cruises and never experienced this before. The following evening it was announced that there were propulsion problems and we would be returning to port late...(this was before they had the medical emergency and needed the coast guard helicopter). The ship did have a setback with the chopper as it seemed to take a long time to get the crew member off the ship into the helicopter which made us even later. I don't know what really happened to the ship... only what i heard/felt and was told. None the less-this won't stop me from going again-it was still a great time.

I called Carnival yesterday to ask about the Propulsion problem. Because I will be booking in a week or two. One hour waiting on hold and was told
there going to try to fix the problem when it arrives in Port Of Miami on Saturday March 17th. It is to arrive late again due to only being able to
cruise at no more than 16 knots. They also told me that departure on the March 17th cruise may be delayed depending on the repairs. I may just book Valor but well see. Ed

Thanks for taking the time to find out what is going on. I know a lot of people are wondering.
I have been looking on and off at Liberty's webcam and a couple of times it said 18 knots but I never saw anything faster than that. They must be pushing the port propeller at full speed to achieve that. They ran the starboard prop for a while on Thursday night/Friday morning but there was a lot of vibration until they shut it down. You could tell when they shut it down by the wake. I was in an aft cabin and had a good view of the wake.
I was also disappointed by the lack of information and especially by the Guest Services rep who came to our cabin and basically told us that the vibration was perfectly normal. I understand why she said that but just say there is a mechanical problem but nothing that effects the safety or stability of the ship.
I hope they can fix it ASAP.
Take care,
Mike

Mike, I agree with everything you said. Also I was happy that Carnival told me something was being done to repair the ship. A.S.A.P I really thought
I was going to be told that the Ship was safe and sound but atleast Carnival was nice enough to fill me in. As far as our Cruise I think we will be booking the Valor for April 14th Eastern Carib. It's a 8 day compared with a 7 day on Liberty for the exact same price. I will enjoy the extra day. Thanks Ed
Maybe they feel that the passengers, can't handle the truth.

Alright! Just got back home from the Liberty Cruise (3/10-3/17) and it all went fine. Fast and nice cruising speed, only delay was leaving last Saturday (3/10) due to the repairs on the propulsion system, when we got to the port I saw the divers on the rear of the ship continuously coming up and going back down, so I assume that whatever it was, they fixed, because the whole trip went just fine (except rain @ Roatan and a small delay entering @ Grand Cayman). Otherwise, she seems to be fine... Carnival posted a $25 credit on our Sign & Sail accounts to compensate for the delays (we departed Miami Port at around 7pm on 3/10)

That's great to hear! I'm on the 3/24 Liberty sailing.
