Kids Wear

What is appropriate dress for kids in the main dining room for dinner? We know to dress them for elegant nights, but would like to know if they can wear shorts or would casual slacks be better. Thanks for your help.

Just to be on the safe side, I'd pack the casual slacks and just wear the shorts during the day.

In my opinion, casual slacks is better than compared to shorts. This is more comfortable. On slacks you can also make them try with formal jackets for main dining room. This will look elegant and quite fine.

How old are they?

Shorts (nice ones) are usually okay on the first night. People are still tired form travel and not everyone has their luggage so it is generally very casual.

Not knowing how old your kids are .... for my daughter, every night is formal night. For my son, he wears a golf shirt and long walking shorts on the first night. For causal nights, he will wear a button down shirt with dress pants from the children's place with dress shoes. For formal nights he wears the same dress pants with a shirt/tie combo. [my son is 4]

Usually shorts are best option to wear at dinner time. Casual slack is also good. Baby feels comfortable better in shorts and also easy to wear it.
