Formal nights

Going on the Carnival Freedom on Nov. 1, 8 nights. Does anyone know what nights are formal nights? We would like to book the specialty restaurant but don't want to miss a formal night in the dining room.

The formal nights on Carnival are two - usually the second night after the departure and the last before the arrival. You will be notified the day before when the formal nights would be.

Yes you often don't actually KNOW until you board.
