drink cards

We are leaving onthe Conquest in Sept and we have read here and there that there are pop cards for the cruise that allows you to have unlimited pop without paying per drink...we were wondering what the cost was and if they sell prior to boarding or after you board. Thanks

Lets see if this works. These are from 2009 so the price/availability may have changed.

On the Pride, it was about $31.00 for kids and $41.00 for adults. Those pop cards only get you pop, so if you're not a big pop drinker, the card really isn't worth it.

Hello, everyone :D. I was wondering about the soda situation, too.... I think that on our first cruise (2004), the kids got a free soda with dinner in the dining room.... is that currently the case?? or, would they bill you for it like a bar beverage?? Does anyone know how much a soda would be if purchased on an individual basis?? thanks:rolleyes:

Most of the common lines(carnival, celebrity, royal, ncl) now charge for all sodas. It's about 2.10 for a can and they will add 15% gratuity. When you checkin online there will be a bunch of extras you can sign up for one being a drink package. This will tell you what you will need to pay for unlimited sodas. Prices vary a lot by cruiseline figure at least $7/day.

Not widely published but you can bring water/soda/even alcohol in some cases on board with you. Again this varies by who you are cruising with. I always bring a couple of 2ltr bottles in my suit case which will reduce any desire to pay per can.

areospace is correct...you are allowed to carry on a reasonable amount....

but remember that you do have to carry it on...you can not put it in checked luggage.

You carry on a "reasonable" amount of water/soda + one bottle of wine per adult.

The soda cards are $6.00 per day plus 15% tip. So for an adult on a 7 days cruise that is $48.30 total or $42.00 plus $6.30 for tip. They also try and sell the mugs extra. If you want a mug buy one, but they will put your soda in any glass they have at the bar or if you want to bring your own mug use yours.

I'm sorry I can't remember the price, but I can tell you my wife and I each ordered ours through the Bon Voyage department on the phone about a month before our cruise.

We like to have everything we can prepaid so we have more money to spend in the casino.

Anyhow in our cabin on embarkation day, the voucher was in there and we took it and our S&S cards to the bar and they put the sticker on them.

Soda Cards are a good deal if one drinks Sodas. They are easily purchased after boarding or at anytime from one of the bars. Also it is said they are a little cheaper after the ship sails because they do not have to charge sales tax. The tax isn't that much so we always purchase one as soon as we board. Usually they will throw in a Logo Cup as a incentive on the first day.
Ooops, I just read that you have to purchase the Logo Cup extra. She said it was part of the deal.
