Galley tour?
We are sailing on Freedom in December. We've sailed her before, great ship!
Anyway, my daughter is 13 and has wanted to be a chef since she was 5. I think it would be an awesome experience for her to see a large working kitchen. Does anyone know if they offer galley tours on Freedom and would she be too young? Where would I sign up for it?

They used to but now I think they are more interested in selling Behind the Fun tours.

Personally, I might explain her interest to the maitre d' and see if he will arrange a private complimentary tour if nothing else is available.

Generally the galley tours are held on one of the sea days and look for the day and time in the " FUNTIMES" I have been on them several times. On ships with two dining rooms and two kitchens the tour is given through a clean almost empty galley. On the Miracle the tour was given while they were preparing dinner items for the one dining room.
The Behind the Scenes tour is limited and usually about $99 so a lot of people head to the dining room for the galley tour.
Good luck and I hope she has fun.

They didn't offer galley tours on my last cruise, and I've been on lots of them. I would still go ahead and ask the maitre d' early in the cruise. If there will be a scheduled galley tour, he would know about it or certainly be able to find out about it.

As Zydeco says, check when you go to your dinner. I did the Freedom on her inaugural and she is fun. Strange color on the Statue of Liberty but the fish and chips were great!!
