I am not much of a beer drinker but tried the Carnival Exclusive beer
" Thirsty Frog" , and really liked it. Unfortunately it is only on tap and not in the 4 bottle ice bucket. How would any of you rate this beer to Corona, Budweiser, or Coors?

Don't know the beer, it sounds like a small brewery craft beer rather than a huge brewery beer like the others you mention. Who brews it and where?

Frankly for my money almost anything is better than Corona, Coors or Bud.

Its brewed exclusively by Carnival to serve in the Red Frog pubs on the newer ships.

I am more of a Blue Moon person...but I really liked the Thirsty Frog..IF

(note the IF) .... it is not bitter....

it was fine on the Magic...but...

I have tried it on several ships since the Magic and have found it very bitter on the Elation (at two different bars) and slightly bitter on the Conquest.

On the Spirit, it was fine IF you got it at an inside bar (casino) but IF you got it from the Serenity Deck outside bar, it was bitter.

so always ask for a "taste" before you buy.

IF I am remembering correctly it is $5.50 plus tip per glass. (and it was a good size glass)

I tried it on the Conquest as I really only drink craft brews...it was good, but the way they draft thier beers needs some improvement as the draft system does not cool the beer down as much as it should (IMHO)...however overall a good craft brew when all you have to choise is bottled mass produced or this...

Actually I prefer my beers when I drink beer as the Scottish pubs serve them. As most of the kegs are kept in pub cellars it is cooler than room temp. but not icy cold. The size they serve on the ships I have had it on is larger than a 12 oz. bottle for just $5.50. Looking forward to hving it on Fascination this coming Monday.

When I was on the Fascination in August, they did not have the Thirsty Frog Red!! That was my only disappointment on the cruise!!

Just off the Carnival Dream. I agree with Jamman that the Red Frog is closer to Killian's Red, perhaps a bit more tart. It was very refreshing and I liked it. Think it was about $6.50 a glass or so. I think the glasses were 16 oz. and there was a special mug you can buy.

Just got off Fascination yesterday and was also disappointed that it wasn't offered. Apparantley none of that class ship offers it. They are going in for a refit and makeover January 5th so maybe they will get it.

I'll be on Glory after Thanksgiving. She just got the 2.0 upgrade so it should be available. I'll be sure to check out Thirsty Frog.

I have not had a beer since 1990 .Perhaps I will try one on a cruise in 2013.

Rumor has it brewed by Budweiser in St Louis for Carnival. Similar to Killians Red by Coors.
