Hi Toby, we've stayed in the Cove Balconies several times. The best thing I can tell you is to NOT
book any cabin under the Galley. We were in cabin 2414 on the Dream and it was so noisy that we got some OBC even though we didn't "officially" complain! They are well aware of the problem.
We also had a Cove Balcony on the Magic. It was under the Shore Excursion desk and was relatively quiet.
The only noise problems we've had with Carnival (besides on the Dream) have been due to the vent that's cut into the bottom of the cabin door. It allows any
noise in the area to come into the cabin. We've never had this problem on NCL or Princess, but their door's are solid.
