miami hotel to pier question

Going on Carnival Breeze in May - is there any hotel that shuttles to pier? We are flying into Miami airport the day before and staying over night. But..don't know where to stay.

There are a couple of hotels that run shuttles. A few out at the airport and Holiday Inn near the port has a shuttle (not free, I think around $10 pp).

We wound up staying at Intercontinental, a 5 star near the port and taking a taxi, because we got IC for $86 on lastminutetravel.com .. and the other hotels were well over $100. My suggestion is to price it both ways.

I flew into Miami last time and took the $2 bus (only had a carry on) to IC. This time Im flying into Ft. Lauderdale with free miles on my SW card, but going out of Miami on a 5 day Celebrity and arrive on Easter Day. Easter Day Im finding is not the cheapest day to find a hotel. Tourists tend to come down after Thanksgiving and leave after Easter.

Ill go look to see if I can find some names near the Miami airport. At least by May tourist season is over.

Holiday Inn near the port (downtown area) you would still need to get to this hotel with a taxi, so you dont gain much even though it does have a port shuttle. It was running about $159 when I was there last time. It is a favorite of cruisers and there will be a lot of other cruisers staying there more than likely.

Im thinking your best bet would be a airport hotel that also has airport pick up?

Here are a couple of ideas

Homewood Suites in the Blue Lagoon area near the MIA airport meets most of
your needs. Big rooms, great breakfast, nice pool area, and free airport shuttles. Plus they offer a free manager's reception Mon - Thurs and there are shopping and dining options in the nearby strip mall.

La Quinta Miami Airport North. There is a free shuttle from Miami Airport, and a group shuttle to Port of Miami for $10. The neighborhood is relatively safe but not much to look at; it's got ethnic restaurants, gas stations for cigarette and beer runs, and fast food places.

Hilton Miami Airport Hotel. Free shuttle from MIA airport.

We did the stay and park at the LaQuita Inn airport east. It is a nice hotel though there isn't much to do in the area. They shuttle you to the port for free but you either have to make arrangements with the shuttle provider for the return trip or take a taxi. We took a taxi back to the hotel, it was $25 for the trip and we were back much faster then the shuttle bus.
