Advice on Ocho Rios excursions without Falls

Has anyone gone on the Carnival excursion in Ocho Rios "Island tour and Bamboo Beach." Their website shows one client comment only.
Are there any beaches close to the port, walking distance, or is it mainly a shopping area? Looking for recommendations on a tour that doesn't include the Falls. Also any info on the Sky tram excursion with pool at the top of the mountain?
