Default Don't spoon feed them

If they want advice let them ask, don't beg them to let you know what they want. There is plenty of help here if one asks. This should be the end of this subject unless they ask.

Default appologize

I'm sorry gang.......had a really bad day. Guess just vented to the board. I do appologize and meant no harm. I was just looking for suggestions on excurions in Grand Turk, Curacio, La Romana, and Aruba.
Once again.......so sorry - please forgive.

OH, shucks-- who doesn't get T.O'd sometimes and says something that comes out in the wrong way??
Human nature--that's all! But, it takes a nice person to stand up in front of the crowd and say " I'm sorry ."
I wish I could be of help re / your excursions but haven't been to those islands for a couple of years.
Good luck.

No worries...everyone has on off day....

I am not onboard as much as I used to be, but I will give a reply to this since we have been to all these ports.

Grand Turk is definately a beach (or by the pool at Margaritaville ) kinda day. Everything is right there at the port and very convenient.

Or you can walk down to Jack's Shack and visit with Toffer (the dog)....
they make great grilled chicken there and great drinks...

but be aware that things are not "island cheap" there.... prices are more like Grand Cayman...than Belize...

La Romana is a very interesting port. We have only been there once and we just did it on our own. We grabbed a taxi (they stay with you the entire time...the price is set before you leave). We took the boys to the Artist's Village and just walked around...

Golf is very big there.... We do not speak Spanish and the taxi driver spoke little English, but we made it work... we never felt uncomfortable.

We got back and paid him the exact price (plus a tip ) that was agreed upon before leaving.

Curacao and Aruba are AMAZING.....

In Curaco, hubby and son went on the mud buggies while I just walked around town by myself. I love going into the locals area and exploring.

The one warning about the mud buggies (these were not a ship excursion) and they ran out of gas....so make sure you take the earliest run and not a later one ... seems once they gas them up...they don't do it again until the next day.

The Swing bridge was all kind of cool....and there is a fort area with shops just before you get to the swing bridge ...this is all an easy walk from the ship.

Aruba has many things to offer...but we just hit Tiffany's and Louis Vuitton. (anytime I can go to the Mother Ship (LV) I am so there!!!)

Again we felt very safe.....

I would not hesitate to grab a taxi in Curacao or Aruba....if there is something else that you finds interests you but you do not want to do a ship excursion.

Ahhh thanks friends for understanding! And thanks for the advice. So far, I think in Grand Turk we will Definitely hit the governors beach (excursion)...come as you go beach. Relaxation.
Curaceo - my daughter wants to go to the Sea Aquarium - which is from 2:30-5:30 (docks at 2)...and doesn't leave till 11! so...guess we might explore.
La Romana - not sure what we will be doing. This is the port we actually may take two excursions. Maybe horseback-riding (or the cave tour) in the AM and possibly the ATV adventure in the pm? Not sure.
And Aruba...I want to do the Off Road Adventure - excursion on carnival. Actually all are excursions from Carnival...as since I've never been to these islands, I'm a chicken....

Thanks ALL!!!!!! If you have feedback on any of this or anything else, let me know.

Cheryl, not to worry. In Aruba, there is a place that I have seen on tv called Charlies Bar.....http://charliesbararuba.com....this is a local place
that seems like lots of fun.....Nice shopping, and, if you go to the hotel area, there are casinos, and some nice beaches.

In Curacao, as you walk down the long pier, they sell the Blue Curacao, and offer samples all along the way. The swinging bridge is interesting, as is the downtown area, although, for me the shopping was not that appealing. An island tour here, would be interesting, and I wish we had taken one, as I had a swollen foot, and couldn't walk as much as I would have liked to, to see more.

Turks and Caicos is a slice of paradise..right off the ship, there is a beach, and within the gated area is a big pool,a Margarittaville and some nice shops..there is also a huge annex of the ships merchandise, with of course a much bigger selection, that is possible onboard.

When are you cruising, and what ship?

We all have those days. Some like me, more than others as I grow old

All is forgiven. Have a great cruise.

Last time we were in Curacio we walked over to the market where all the boats are parked. It was very colorful and interesting.
Again, all is forgiven
