Check your prices - they DID change..

I checked my price and they now have another offer which is 185.00 cheaper with a better balcony cabin too ! They call it the casino offer.
I went back in a little while later and it was gone but I kept checking and found it again @! How do you get a refund ? Im booked 4/20 Liberty..

krunch March 15th, 2013 11:20 PM

Here you go...

http://www.cruisemates.com/forum/car...-question.html

There's a link in the thread to the form you need to complete, and a little further down there is a link (that I posted) that allows you to confirm that the room you chose is indeed cheaper. To the best of my knowledge, you are only guaranteed refunds / ship credit when your booking price falls, IF you originally booked the "Early Saver" rate ONLY. All other promotions are NOT covered by the price protection guarantee, Unless you booked your cruise in the last 48 hours.

We booked a inside cabin last sept. So far we have saved a little over 450.00 PLUS got moved to a ocean view cabin!! So yes keep a eye on your rates. Counting today I have changed mine 4 times.:D

cherylroy March 19th, 2013 07:13 PM

I was just rewarded a 238.00 onboard credit....... PLUS an upgrade in cabin (which I don't want). We booked a cove cabin because we WANTED a cove cabin (loved it).....and my TA put us on the Lido without asking. Praying it can be reversed.

You should be given a choice.

cherylroy March 19th, 2013 08:05 PM

I know Robin...I should be. She put through a request to carnival - now putting in a request to cancel the request and didn't ask me my opinion!

Aerogirl March 19th, 2013 08:22 PM

Hope it all works out for you.

cant_w8_2cruise April 2nd, 2013 11:34 AM

Woo hoo price dropped again. :p waiting for travel agent to get back with me. It really is paying to keep a eye on the prices.

scatman April 2nd, 2013 02:18 PM

Mine dropped by another $100, that's a total of $560 since final payment and $1000 since we booked. My travel agent said that he did not see the rate that I am seeing on Fare Viewer. He said reluctantly that he would put in for the credit and see what Carnival says. Should I wait for that to process, or go ahead and submit the form on my own?

Tuesdays are always a good day to check pricing and I suggest doing it each week. While there are exceptions to every rule, the majority of rate changes seem to be available on Tuesdays more than any other day of the week. With airline tickets, it's Tuesday nights.

We have a client who's doing a 14-night cruisetour on Holland America is August. In December, about two months after she booked, I found a drop in price of $120 per person. Last week, I found another price decrease of $500 per person. And today I got her another decrease of $430 per person. That's $1050 per person in the last four months. Needless to say, she's ecstatic about saving $2100 from what she had budgeted for the cruisetour. But all three changes occurred on Tuesdays.

I got an onboard credit for the friends and family price since I have already paid in full

cant_w8_2cruise April 3rd, 2013 09:26 PM

My TA got back with me last night and mine had went down 99.99 . So since I already paid it off I now have 199.99 O.B.C. Will keep a eye on it and see if there is any more drops since we can get credit up to 2 days before the cruise. I really didn't think it would go down much since it is a June cruise. I figured it would fill up that time of year. So far since we booked back in September it has went down 550.00... Yay

Hi Aero G. New to this and I am l to the o to the s to the T! Is there a way I can see if anyone has tickets for sale, i.e. vendor or Traveler for Cruise Ship Breeze..4/21 to 4/27 2013? Leaving Miami? There are still cabins on the 4/13 departure but the 21st I seem quite unlucky.

Thanks

C.J.

storybookcruises.com April 4th, 2013 03:53 PM

Sorry. The 4/21 sailing on the Breeze is completely sold out.

I usually check every sat morn, and so far for the carnival victory for 6/1/13 ha dropped $200 for balcony.. yeaa for on board credit :)

John Rivers April 10th, 2013 12:04 PM

My wife and I have saved over $800 with the "Better Deal Offer". Check often. Once your category is full no refunds though. You either have to change rooms or freeze at your price.

krunch April 17th, 2013 11:54 AM

Just submitted 8 forms on behalf of our group for our wedding cruise this fall. Looks like a $100 discount per room. We have 7 balcony rooms, some have 2, 3, or 4 people, and 1 interior room with 3 peoplem, all on Deck 9. Same discount for all of our reservations, so it seems the room type and number of occupants is irrelevant.

Yeah free money!rofl

krunch April 17th, 2013 01:37 PM

Already got 5 of the 8 bookings approved and those are each showing a price adjustment of $100. Anyone in our group that purchased the vacation protection insurance is getting an additional reduction of $28.

After reading your post I went over our October cruise on Breeze and found a $140 price drop on the Fall Super Saver with on board credits. After talking to my PVP she gave me hints that helped me fill out the form. She said that Carnival is quick to deny if even the slightest thing on the form is not filled out correctly especially the name of the promotion the price difference was quoted on.

krunch April 25th, 2013 11:55 PM

I don't think you can compare rates from two different categories. I think the price protection only applies if you originally booked Early Saver (Which our group of 8 rooms did) To date we have gotten $40 back on all 8 rooms a few months ago, and recently got another $100 back on each room just last week. These are now the new early saver rates. I had no problems with the forms, technically I have now completed 16 of them. Within a few days, the refund was credited to each room.

If anyone else is still following this thread, maybe you already know the answer. What has happened in the last few days is Carnival has now added a $50 ship credit to their early saver rate. The rate is still the same as what we are paying for now. I wonder if I can submit forms AGAIN for another $50 room credit for each room? If no one has an answer for this, I will submit 8 more forms over the weekend and try it at least.

scatman April 28th, 2013 09:41 AM

I have had my TA submit the form several times and each time have gotten more OBC added. The last time i just submitted the form myself and also received an increase in my OBC. This week has shown the fare to have increased, I'm thinking probably because the rate class is fully booked (4 people to a cabin). I will keep checking twice a week, though.

storybookcruises.com April 28th, 2013 01:36 PM

That's why it's always good to book with an agent - let them do all the work for you. If you book directly with the cruise line or an online site, you have to do all the work.

But it's always a good idea to keep your eyes on the prices as they do tend to change all the time, especially right now with all the problems Carnival has had lately.

sgtmomret April 30th, 2013 09:00 PM

Check again. It may not be down but the ES and the PG price are the same but you get a better deal with PG.

Aerogirl May 1st, 2013 03:07 PM

Finally after reading how everyone is getting price reduction or OBC we received a $50.00 OBC for our cruise...nothing like having a little extra $$ to spend.:):):)

krunch May 2nd, 2013 12:18 AM

Aerogirl,

Did you get that $50 because of the $50 OBC that's posted with the "Fall Savings" promotion? I submitted for that this evening. Our rate is still the same as the most recent rebate, but now they have added $50 OBC. In the form that we can complete, there is no real field to mention an OBC. I just said in the comment field that the "Rate is currently the same, but a $50 OBC is currently being offered on our cruise" Hopefully this works, and they accept it. If so, our group of 8 rooms will have saved $140, and receive $50 OBC. Essentially $190 per room. SUUUH-WEEEET!
