Default Platinum question

I have 2 questions actually.

1. I have 8 cruises in all ready. I know it takes 10 for platinum. I have one booked for October and one for November 2013. What is the chances Carnival will give me the VIP status on the October trip since I am booked for November?

2. Does anyone else think they kinda got screwed a little on platinum status now that you can pay the 50.00 per cabin and get onboard priority? Is there a difference?

They do not count your cruises until after you've taken them. So they're not going to give you anything before you earn it.

As for the $50, it's a personal choice as to whether you think it's worth it or not. Personally, I don't feel it is, but that's just me.

1) No. On your 10th cruise you should be Platinum from Day1, I would expect to see it on the cruise documents for your 10th cruise AFTER you complete your 9th.

2) No and I'm Diamond. I have no problem with someone subsidizing my benefits. The benefit I appreciate the most is the free wash and fold, which always was and is for sale.

Not at all. Platinum / Diamond still board BEFORE the FTTF people, AND we also get immediate cabin access and early baggage delivery, WITHOUT paying for it!

You don't get Plantinum until your 10th cruise. We just took our 10th cruise and on that cruise we got our Plantinum cards and all the benefits. The benefits are so much more that what the people that pay $50 for. Look online and see all the benfits of being Platinum. Private parties, chocolate delivered to your room, wash and fold for free, Carnival logo gift, Priority tender, rooms available when you get on board (our luggage wasn't really any faster), but still completely worth it. And when you print out your boarding pass and luggage tags for the cruise in November.... IT WILL SAY PRIORITY!!!!!!!

I took a back to back in May so I could do # 8 & 9 and my cruise on Breeze in October will be Platinum. After I finished the 9th cruise I got new boarding passes and luggage tags indicating Priority boarding. You must take your 10th cruise by Dec. 31,st to be Platinum or it falls back to the new system.
I did the Faster to the fun on cruise 8 and was amazed at how quickly I got aboard and how wonderful I was treated. Since I was on a back to back they gave me the early departure on cruise 9. It is well worth the money no matter how much the Platinum and Diamond holders complain about being cheated. I will be Platinum and I don't begrudge the people that pay for the privilidge. Good Luck.

Carnival switched to points, right? Doesn't the VIPF program require 75 points/nights to qualify for Platinum? Have they grandfathered some folks in under cruise count? My status indicates the number of points to the next level, not cruises.

Love the free wash and priority boarding on tenders and in particular in Belize where there is a somewhat long ride. Have not seen any speed up in luggage delivery. For the record on Celebrity you must have completed 10 before the platinum which is called elite. It is interesting to look at the different benefits of these levels on the different lines I have my favorite and nothing more than an opinion. Like em all.Up to 60 now.

I have read on another cruise forum if you have both cruise #9 & # 10 paid in full chances are big you will be platinum on your 9th cruise..

Default Platinum Status

When you actually go on the 10th cruise, then you get Platinum. When you make your final payment for the 10th cruise and print your boarding passes and luggage tags, they will say Priority, but not until the 10th cruise. (Just my experience)

1) No, you will get VIP status on your tenth cruise, not your ninth with a future cruise booked.

2) No. Here is how I look at it. If some wants to pay an extra $50 so they can board earlier, that is their choice. However, platinum guest board before they do and don't have to pay the extra $50.

Other cats are made of Palladium(oxidizer) and Rhodium(reductor), just easier to use one element to do two things than use multiple elements to do the same job. Both types has it's pros and cons.
Cute.

Currently it is a pretty nice Nike ball cap although many ships also have the tervis tumblers.

If you end up with one but would prefer the other, you can ask if you can exchange it.
