Been awhile since I have been on this board. We moved from Florida to Virginia in Feb and have been busy with a new house.
We have a cruise planned in Feb 2014 on the Carnival Conquest and will be stopping in St. Thomas. This about our 9th time to St. Thomas and we want to do something a little different. Has anybody done the Helmet Dive at Coral World Ocean Park? If so, was it worth it? If not, what was the main problem? And what pother activities c an you suggest? I am 71 and my wife is 67. We like to snorkel but would like something different this time.
We did a helmet dive in Cabo, it was pretty cool to do but there was not a lot around the platform -well the water was murky maybe there was more than I could see. We haven't done anything around Coral World. Hope someone else weighs in.
All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; John Masefield

Did this with my two sons back in 2010 while on a Carnival Dream cruise. It was so well worth it. Plenty of fish and other things around. The hardest part is climbing down a 15 ft vertical ladder while in the water. I did it less than three months after having my right knee replaced, with no problem. If I remember right, you got to spend about a half hour underwater. Here are some pics. I am in the red bathing suit...
