We have cruised several times - but always out of Florida. I am booking our next out of Puerto Rico and need a little advice on possibly staying the night before in PR. We are coming from Kansas and it will be a long travel day, with the first flight in PR at 2:00. Normally I would risk it and travel same day as departure but the time constraints and the distance are just too risky this time. Therefore, I would like to fly in the day before and stay one night near the cruise terminal. Anyone have suggestions on this? Where? I want clean and safe but also convenient - not too worried about the cost as long as it meets those three things. Also - is this port as congested as the others? Would appreciate any help on this...
Also - am posting this in the "hotel" section just in case since I really want as much info as possible on this.

Definitely come in a day early and take a little time to explore Old San Juan either when you get in or before heading to the ship.
