Talking Can't get away from Carnival

So for my next cruise I decided to go with RC or so I thought. The girl I will be cruising with wants to cruise Breeze for the ship or Glory for the ports. She really has her heart set on one of these two ship....so..... I might have to give in a cruise Breeze as I'm really not interested in Glory.... I think I can live with it.

Time will tell!

Right, if that's the worst of my life!
I'm not giving up just yet. If I don't cruise with her I'd have to go solo .....wait that don't sound to nice, she's a good friend and we'll have a blast no matter what.

I like you profile picture....very pretty!

As with any cruise, it all boils down to what type are you looking for and what do you want in your cruise. For some people, it's the ship or the amenities. For others, it's the itinerary. For some, it's the food. And for others, it's the overall ambiance (active versus sedate, young crowd vs old crowd, etc). And yet for some, it's all about the money (but cheaper is not necessarily better). And often, it's all about their past experiences and whether they were good or bad, leaving them to want to do a particular cruise line or not.

That's why every cruise line has their fans and their critics. What one person loves, another will hate. So it's all a matter of what you're looking to get out of your cruise.

I get calls all the time from people who will say something like, "Anything, but Carnival." I call them my ABC people! When I ask them why, I usually get the same answer, "My friend said....." But as I say, people are different and they like different things, so they may have hated it, but you may love it. It's important to find something that fits your needs, lifestyle, and budget.

But keep in mind, sometimes better does not necessarily cost all that much more.

Had a client call me a couple of weeks ago and wanted to do the NCL Dawn, which we've been on. When I asked him why he wanted to do that ship and he said the price looked good for a single. So the number one thing on his mind was price. I asked him if he was open to other options or whether he had his mind made up, to which he responded he was always open to other options. I found a great deal on the Holland America Eurodam and told him to go online, read reviews of these two ships, look at all the pictures, and check both of them out. The next day he called me back and said he had changed his mind and thought the Eurodam was a much better option. Needless to say, he was very excited about it, especially when I notified him the difference in the two cruises was only $18!! He ended up having an awesome cruise and booked another one while on that one.

Sometimes people get so hung up on price they don't realize that as the saying goes, "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." Often, the best deal is not the best price when you take everything into consideration.

I can only speak for myself and my carnival cruises, I strongly think it just depends on the ship....liberty was really great for the most part....Freedom not so great.

I know I want to do a freedom or oasis class ship with RC becauses I'm looking for a live ship not one that rolles up the decks at 10:00 and I want decent food but its not as big of a factor as fun things to do.

I'm also kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place as I for the most part I have a generous cruise budget but others I cruise with do not except for one of the gals and she's not cruising again for a while so I kind of have to go with what others can afford.

I'm still going to see if I can't talk her into Indy of the seas but if its Breeze or no cruise I'll take breeze. It's funny how just a couple hundred dollars can make or break a cruise.

I don't think cruising on another line makes you unintelligent if that's what your implying.
I have no problem with carnival but after my last I'm looking or something different ....kind of tired of the same old same old.

Curious .....do you work for Carnival or something? You seem to take everything very personal when it comes to Carnival and can't seem to stand the thought that another line might do something better or people might enjoy something other than them.

Never have and don't work for Carnival. Never tried to and don't want to work for them.

I'm not implying anything. Any issues you have over the cruise are with your friend, not me. I cruise on other lines, but this IS the Carnival board. I simply stated my opinion.

I often tell people who are, for whatever reason, turned off by Carnival to move on to other lines and get criticized for that, too. By the people I am trying to help, . Again, that is their problem, not mine.

Have a nice weekend!
