Free Cabin .....really ?

Just received a letter from Carnival telling me I get a free cabin for two , must book by March 3rd. It's an inside cabin and I would pay port charges but still free cabin. I will be calling to get the fine print details...stand by.

storybookcruises.com February 10th, 2014 05:13 PM

Yeah, they've been offering alot of these, especially to those who gamble alot in the casinos, as a way to bring people back to Carnival after all the latest problems they've had.

I've had several clients get offered these and it's not a bad deal, then again it's only worth up to a couple of hundred of dollars in most cases. But hey, it sure beats a sharp stick in the eye!

Aerogirl February 10th, 2014 06:45 PM

I'm in shock...shock!!!!LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
I'm so dam happy I don't know what to do!!!!

felix_the_cat February 10th, 2014 08:20 PM

Those that gamble received letters offering them a free cabin. I have one client who received the offer and booked on the Freedom. My other client didn't get the offer but she booked with me to go with her cousin anyway.

Aerogirl February 10th, 2014 09:07 PM

I'm not sure why I got one, I gamble very little maybe $50.00 on a seven day.
Could it be that we have only booked GS & OS ? Whatever the reason it worked for me as I'm ready!

MarylandDave February 10th, 2014 11:43 PM

I got the same offer and booked 7 nights out of Baltimore. I'm traveling solo, so all I paid was $196.00 for taxes, port fees, and gratuities. The fine print on the mailing says its "valid for two sailings". I booked it directly on the Carnival website. And the website is allowing me to make another reservation for another free cabin. I just need to decide where to go on my next free Carnival cruise.

Wow! congrats guys

Paul Motter February 11th, 2014 01:12 PM

This is really good news for all of you. I wonder how many people got these and thought it was a scam.

Six days on the Breeze is a nice cruise. Any 7-day cruise is a nice cruise. Good for you guys. I guess it pays to be a loyal customer sometimes.

Aerogirl February 11th, 2014 02:14 PM

I only chose Breeze because it was on my list of ships to sail. I thought about a seven day eastern on Conquest but I've sail that ship class twice already and wanted something new.
If I was booking it normally it would be a little over 1,800 for the two us, so for $300.00 it's a great deal.

WendyR February 11th, 2014 02:42 PM

We booked last night on the Freedom for May 24, 8 day Southern Caribbean... 3 people in a balcony room for a grand total of....wait for it...... a whopping $637!! WOW! I thought the whole free cabin letter had to have a catch somewhere as well but I checked anyway and am really glad I did. We've been on multiple cruises and lines but even if Carnival isn't your first choice of lines you'd be insane to pass on this offer if you're lucky enough to get a letter!! Can't wait 'till May!!

I think that's a lot more than a couple of hundred dollars worth. rofl

Hmmm. Maybe I should try that. :-P

I just filled out another Carnival cruise survey and will have a chance to win a cruise from that, but I (almost) never do. I never have, but there is always hope! You can't win if you don't play.

vamoonbeam@comcast.net February 13th, 2014 06:49 PM

Hello! I am presently in New Zealand, where is the cruise departing from?

Snoozeman February 14th, 2014 06:25 AM

Congratulations on receiving the 'free cabins' letter. :) That's very special. And what a deal.

I have checked every day of late hoping to get one myself!!

FYI--to those that have not received one, this letter has nothing to do with the casino.

MarylandDave February 14th, 2014 07:17 AM

You can check on the Carnival web site and see if you have any offers. You don't have to wait for the mail to arrive. Log onto their website, then click on "cruise deals" at the top of the page. Then click on "past guest offers" in the middle of the page. Then click on "VIFP Offers". Enter you VIFP number if it isn't already entered automatically. Then any offers will show. I currently have a "free interior cabin" and a "two category upgrade" offer available.

I got one and thought it was a scam, but decided to call before I threw it in the trash. Lucky me. I'm leaving hubby home and taking one of my sisters on her 1st cruise. This will be my 19th cruise.

Aerogirl April 2nd, 2014 09:26 AM

Bet your glad you didn't throw it out !

Matelot April 7th, 2014 04:14 PM

I keep checking the mail - so far, nothing! How do you get one?

Aerogirl April 7th, 2014 04:16 PM

It was just a random thing they did, I don't think it's still going on. It's a good idea to check your VIFP account from time to time.

Queen of Oakville April 7th, 2014 04:25 PM

I've moved, .... maybe I should send them my new address : )

Paul, is the cruise industry hurting? I just got an awesome deal on Celebrity. With prices like this, I will be cruising more often. Just wish I had more vacation time. And cheaper flights : )

Snoozeman April 7th, 2014 04:38 PM

IMHO--it's just 'Supply & Demand'.

With so many new build ships there are more berths out there to sell. The prices are even dropping 'up the ladder' so Celebrity, etc. will also have to drop pricing in order to fill berths.

Good time to be a cruise consumer. I'm certainly waiting for a good sale before booking and there are bargains out there.

AKcruiser April 13th, 2014 02:07 AM

My husband and I both received a letter from Carnival on Christmas Eve. I thought is was a scam until I logged into my account on Carnival and saw the offer there in my VIFP account. We booked an 8 day cruise on the Carnival Sunshine sailing on May 30th. We upgraded to an oceanview room and the total cost was $400 for the 2 of us and we also received a $100 onboard credit making the 8 day cruise a total of $300!!

Thank you Carnival!!

Cruznut2 April 13th, 2014 01:20 PM

Nice deal everyone. I did not get this one but I did get the agent appreciation offer. I had a nice ocean view cabin on the Dream. They also paid my port charges and my gratuities.
