Pride Boarding
For anyone who has recently sailed on Pride out of Baltimore....what time do they actually begin boarding? I know they say 1:30 but do they actually start sooner, like many other ships? I heard they try to stress they board right at 1:30 but also heard they do start earlier. Thanks. June 14th, 2014 01:13 AM

I've seen them start boarding as early as 11:30, but usually sometime around noon. They tell you not to start boarding until 1:30 because that's when you can get into your stateroom. If you board prior to 1:30, they'll usher you to the Lido Deck, where the buffet is and it will be very crowded with everyone sitting around with their carry-on luggage waiting for the announcement that the staterooms are available. Needless to say, it's noisy and crowded, plus everyone is pushing and shoving trying to stuff food in their mouths.

Personally, we much prefer to board around 2:30. No lines, no hassle, no crowds, and we can go right to our stateroom and then to the buffet without all the pushing and shoving.

My last two cruises Dec/ May out of Miami we were on board by noon having lunch, our May cruise we had #3 boarding pass. On the May cruise all cabins were ready at 12:30 to my suprize .....they announced it over the pa.....this was the first time I've seen that.

Happy cruising!

Thanks. And Pete, are you speaking about Pride in particular or Carnival in general? I ask because we have plenty of experience boarding but had heard that Pride in particular does things differently from other Carnival ships, possibly due to limitations with their facility at the Port of Baltimore. Just talking about my personal experience with the Pride. But we also took the Miracle out of Baltimore and encountered the same thing. Plus, we were just on the Glory in December out of Miami and it was basically the same experience.

But times can vary - just depends on how soon they get into port, how soon they clear customs, how soon they get everyone off the ship, etc.

We are cruising on the Pride next Sunday and we are planning on getting to the port at 10:00 am or so. I would rather sit at the port and wait rather than at the hotel

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 03:35 AM.
