Carnival Liberty formal nights

On July 19th sailing, itinerary is - Port Canaveral, At sea, Grand Turk, San Juan, St Thomas, St Maarten, two days at sea.... which one is most likely to be the formal night- the first at sea day? Can you rent Tuxedos ahead of time or only at Guest services?

I would guess 1st and 2nd sea day, as far as the tux I have no clue.

In past years, you could rent prior to your cruise, but check with your travel agent if Canival is not specifically stating this on site. Formal dressing with tuxes is not all that common anymore, and that might factor into this option now.

The formal nights will be on your first and last sea days.

You can rent tuxedos at:

Cruiseline Formalwear

Just an FYI: A tuxedo is not required and about 5% of the men will be wearing one. This is based on last month's cruise on Liberty.

However, if you want to dress up, go for it! Just don't be offended if the people at the next table are in Polo shirts and Dockers.

Take care,
Mike

Formal nights on your cruise will be Sunday, July 20th, and Friday, July 25th. Surprised your agent didn't inform you about that.

As for tux rental, you'll see very few of these, if any, on formal nights. On our last Carnival cruise in December, I watched a guy walk in and sit down for formal night dinner wearing t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops!! You'll see many guys wearing golf shirts. I was among the minority wearing a coat and tie. So definitely don't feel like you have to get overly dressed up for formal night, unless of course you want to, and then feel free to go for it.

I would have to add, that if I wanted dess ultra formal, I would save it for a different cruise line and ambiance in the dining room. After onr of our Carnival cruise when this man came in to dinner on formal night, in heans a tee shirt, with a whote shirt over that, I was over it.

I think on the right line, with others of the same mind set, the evening will be special. To be one of just a handful, it sort of minimizes ones efforts...jmho
