Default Celebrations?

Apparently, I'm way out of the loop as far as the new Carnival "celebrations" are concerned .

We used to be able to give notice of an anniversary or a birthday and get a few balloons and/or a cupcake at no charge. Now it seems we have to buy our own "celebration"!

Is this correct, or have I missed something?

Fern,

It has been MANY years since the "free" birthday cake was available. Now you have to order it before the cruise or after you board, at Cherry On Top. (Or whatever they just changed the name to.)

Often your waiter will give a small dessert with a candle and have the team sing Happy Birthday Two Shoes.

Actually, the cakes you get from Cherry On Top are darn good and I wish I could still eat them. We ordered a 12 inch a few years ago. I think price was around $10 or $15. We could not eat all of it. They saved it for us and had it for dessert the next night and it was still fresh.

Last May/June we cruised and celebrated my birthday, our anniversary and Betty's birthday on the same cruise. All three dates were during the cruise. I think people at the nearby tables thought we were trying to scam free desserts.

Take care,
Mike

Thanks, Mike. I guess it's been a long time since we celebrated anything on a cruise! We'll make do with saying "Happy Anniversary" to each other !
