Default Birth cert and id do not match

We are going on a Mexican cruise sailing Sunday. We just went to get a certified copy of my husbands birth certificate and seen his last name is listed as his dads first name. He has gone his whole life using his fathers last name but legally his last name should have been his fathers last name. His license and ssn are different from his birth certificate. Is this going to be a problem boarding the ship and if so is there something we could get in this short of time before sunday?

Talk to your agent and see what they can do to help you out. If you don't have one, then you'll need to talk directly to the cruise line, because any information people here can offer may or may not be appropriate in your situation.

But the bottom line is that the name on the reservation must match the name on the documentation, i.e. the birth certificate and the driver's license (or a passport) or they will be denied boarding.

Yes, you must ask your agent to know what is the other option that you can do. I think it will be a problem on that document.

I agree, Donna. But I seriously doubt we'll ever hear from them again.
