Default booking a guaranteed window room

We are leaving for our 8th carnival cruise on Sunday. I almost always book a guaranteed 6A cabin. When I have done this, we have always ended up on an upper deck and sometimes even a balcony room, which was always a great surprise. This time, our room assignment showed up on our booking pretty quickly. I booked at the end of Jan. It is a room on the Riviera Deck. The last time we were on that deck was on our first cruise and I booked a guaranteed inside room. Has anyone ever seen their cabin number change at the last minute? We will be fine with the deck and will be happy to have the full window but am a bit surprised we were given the cabin number so quickly. I can see that they are still trying to sell every kind of cabin. Just curious!

This close to the cruise, and you have cabin assignment, I wouldn't expect a change.

In booking a guarantee the rule of thumb is to book the lowest category cabin you would be happy with because that's what you may end up in. I hope you will be happy with this 6A cabin. What the heck: You're on the cruise, the cabin size will be good and you'll have great time.

Take care and have a great cruise.

As Mike stated, once your cabin has been assigned there are two chances of it changing - slim and none. However, sometimes your agent is able to work their magic and get your cabin changed for you - depends on what's available and how many are left.

We have only done the guarantee thing twice. Once we got an early assignment and it stayed rock solid.
