I am starting to think about stuff to pack for the Oct 12 cruise, and it occured to me that I didn't know if there were any laundry facilities aboard for guest use, or how much it would cost to have them done for us if there were no laundrymat on board.
Any of you previous Millenium cruisers know the score on Millenium laundry?
Sorry, but there are no self laundry facilities on Millennium. However, the laundry, pressing and dry cleaning services are reasonable and they do a good job. My wife and I were on a 14 day cruise and had no problems using the service.
I would say the costs were only slightly higher than what you might find locally. But I think they are much less than you would pay in U.S. hotels for laundry services.
The ship is wonderful, I am sure you will enjoy your trip.
* Special articles of apparel such as silks, flannel trousers, woolens and other items which are difficult to clean are accepted for laundering only at owner's risk
* Items marked "DRY CLEAN ONLY," should NOT be laundered
* In case of loss or damage, liability is limited to ten times the prices charges for laundry/pressing of said article. Not responsible for shrinkage, fastness of colors, zippers, buttons and ornaments, or ordinary wear and tear in pressing, or anything left in pockets of garments
* All prices are in US. Dollars and are subject to change without further notice.
As mentioned, laundry services are reasonable. I bought plastic Clothes pins and washed underwear and socks about everyother day. Hung Golf shirts on a hanger to dry in the shower. If you have a verandah, you can put a t-shirt on back of a chair to dry where no one will see it. For daytime, I brought 4 pr. shorts, 3 pair of slacks with coordinating tops. For evenings, take one less outfit per dress recommendation; 2 formal, 2 informal, 5/6 casual outfits, 2 pr. comfortable walking shoes, 2 pr. dress shoes, 2 pr.daytime/casual shoes. A light nylon jacket should be enough for cooler days. Don't forget a Water bottle.
We paid $1 for each man's shirt to be laundered on board the Millennium. Don't know about the price list posted here, but that's cheaper than I pay at home.
