Default Catalina, Dominican Republic

My wife and myself will be sailing on the Millenium Feb.18,2001. I have read many things about most of the islands except Catalina. Can anyone tell us about this island and what there is to do there? Thanks!

There is a photo on Celebrity's website (www.celebrity-cruises.com). The only excursion mentioned is to Casa de Campo one of the most luxurious resorts in the Caribbean. I imagine Catalina is just the name of Celebrity's "private island", but it sounds like it's part of the Dominican Republic to me. If it is it will have the usual collection of water sports, hammocks, beach chairs, rum drinks and barbecue they all have.

Larry, my husband and I will also be on the Millennium 2/18. it will be our first cruise. I've been looking all over for info on Catalina and get conflicting answers. Maybe someone who has been there can fill us in. We've never cruised before so it will all be new to us. I haven't seen Catalina on any of the other itineraries for Celebrity so it must be a new "stop".

We will be on the Millennium, Eastern Caribbean cruise on Jan.21. I have been trying to find out about Catalina Island myself. So far, I know that it is called Catalina by CelebrityC.L.. Apparently Costa cruises also uses it for it's private island. I can't remember the name they call it. The Island was on some of Celebrity's Southern Carribbean itineraries. They had an excursion at one point to Altos De Chavon. But I don't know if they still do. That's the one we want to take! Here are some of the links I have been able to find info .
