Default Millie ?s

Can you buy wine on the ship or ports to drink in your room or dining room?

Are there refrigerators in the staterooms? Is the mini bar(is there one?) locked in the room so my kids won't have access?

Is there any difference between a cat 1c vs 2c? (besides location?)

What exactly does a "butler" do to deserve a tip as large as the room steward's.

what kind of equipment is in the fitness/cardio room? Is there a fee to use it? is it crowded?

was golf offered as an excursion on catalina?

are there $5 blackjack tables?

Is there a cinema? how was the entertainment?

Thx!!

Barb

Barb:

1. You can buy any liquor you want in any port, bring it on board and drink it in your room. I don't think you can buy wine in port and bring it to dinner room. You have to buy theirs.

2. There is a minibar/refregirator in the room. It's locked. I think you need to ask for a key. We had a baby with us, so out room attendant opened it for us so we could store milk in there.

3. I am not sure about differences in 1c vs 2c. If you look in the brochure, it can tell you if there are any differences. Celebrity web site has the same info.

4.Not sure about the butler. He/She might be there is you want to shcedule a party, book an excursion or need anything and don't want to do it yourself.

5.There is no fee to use a fitness room. It has all the latest steppers, walkers and bikes (both uppers and lower). It has also the weight equipment and free weights. They also have a sceduled stepping classes. Every time I was there is was not buisy. I think you have an option to sigh up for a time for a walkers.

6. Catolina is an island that has a beach only. I think they had a Golf excursion on Casa De Campo. Check the Celebrity website.

7.Not sure about $5 blackjacks. With the 2 year old, we did not get a chance to gamble.

8. Not sure about the Cinnema. Entertainment was OK. It's pretty similar to other Cruise lines. My oppinion.

Hope that helps.

Yes, there is a cinema. No, I don't believe there are any $5 blackjack tables, at least not in the non-smoking section of the casino. Location is the only difference between the 1C and 2C cabins.

There's about 20 sq ft difference in cat 1 vs cat 2 (cat 1 being larger). I believe the difference is to accomodate a slightly larger sofa in the cat 1.

The balcony on cat 2 is 38 sq.ft. it's 41 sq.ft. in the cat 1's. The cat 1's are also
21 sq. ft. larger.

Hi Barbara,
If you stay in a suite, you get a butler. If you are in any other cabin, other than a suite, no bulter. The butler helps you unpack, makes reservations for you when there are none to be had, serves you meals, helps you with any problems to ensure you have a good cruise experience. He sort of acts as a buffer between you and anything that could go wrong. When you want room service, you call the butler's cell phone. He's there to answer your call in less than a minute. He serves you afternoon tea in your suite, canapes before dinner, all very formally since he's dressed in tails & gloves. Suite passengers may order full menu any time during the day, not just during scheduled times when the main dining room is open. The service we had from Rupesh on Mercury was outstanding. He's the reason we did not hesitate to pay extra for a suite on Millennium. And yes, he was worth the recommended tip. In fact we tipped him way beyond the required $3.50 per day per person (in our case 3 passengers). Everyone deserves his level of service just once in their lives. Can't say enough good things about the butler service aboard Celebrity ships. Go for it. You'll be more than happy you spent the extra money.

You can bring liquor or wine on board if done inconspicuously. But I have never known of anyone bringing it to the table so room consumption is fine or put your mixed drink in your personal water bottle for enjoyment by the pool. The room steward will unlock the stocked mini-bar/refrigerator and you can ask to have the contents removed during your stay. The spa/gym area is the largest afloat and fabulous. They have sign-up sheets for the machines when necessary. The theatre is on the port side and films can be viewed in your room as well. We had a 2c on Penthouse deck (2 of us) and it was bigger than other balcony cabins we have had. There are 2 chairs & a small table on the balcony. I don't know how it would be with bunks as a quad. Have a great time.
Bon Voyage

Nanatravel
My husband and I have book a category 2C on the Millie, you seem to have enjoyed your room. Any specific feedback. We were on the Century last year and the rooms seemed very spacious to us, no verandah though last year, and loads of closet and drawer space. How about the Verandah, does the sliding glass door seem to make the room appear more open?

Would appreciate any information. Also, did you notice any folks buying wines etc from the duty free shop in the terminal. Last year we were able to buy some wines before embarkation and we instructed to go back to the terminat at 3:00 to pick it up. They gave us no hastles about bringing it back on and actually told us that we could take it to the dinning room but there would be a corking charge.

Thanks
