I am happy to hear the good news about the Infinity , but am still not able to get transfers from San Diego to Ensenada. Two phone calls to Celebrity got the same answer.. They haven't contracted with the bus companies yet. They will do so at the end of the month.Last week they said at the end of last week they would be in place. This makes me think that they have some doubts. Am still hopeful!!!!
From experience, I know that Celebrity is probable having a hard time contracting for buses. Drivers don't want to go to Ensenada. It's a one way fare for them - no passengers on the return trip.
Last year we cruised on Rhapsody of the Sea. The buses were in bad shape and the drivers were not top notch. Some buses broke down. Our's almost didn't make it. We were among the first to leave Pier B, but among the last to arrive in Ensenada.
Don't worry about not getting a transfer - it will come. However, if you insist on worrying about something then worry about what bus you might get, (just kidding).
This year were cruising on Infinity in April to Hawaii - I'm sure we'll have the same problem, but we will get there.
HAS ANYONE HEARD ANY STORY ABOUT CELEBRITY FILING FOR CHAPTER 11. R.C.C.L. TO DROP CELEBRITY FROM THEIR LISTINGS AS A NON MONEY MAKER AND THEIR SHIPS TO BE SOLD. HOPE ITS NOT TRUE.
I have found a company who will transport 4 of us from our hotel to Ensenada for $70.00 per person about the same price as Celebrity or RCCL did in the past... that is not the point... if they don't want to enter into contracts to transport pasengers to Ensenada.... is it because they are not going to have a ship there???????????
Call Celebrity and ask about transfers or call Ann at Ship n Shore cruises and ask her... we both got the same story... no transfers have been contracted with the bus companies..
Celebrity customer service... call them if you don't believe me.... the first story was that they were sold out... but after I got to a supervisor I was told that they were not doing land packages or transfers until they were sure that the ship was going to sail.
I am sick and tired of "jessie" talking trash.....Beav, I have a feeling that Jessie, Connie, and Joey all sing to the tune of an odd drummer. As for those negative e-mails that they keep posting....TURN IT OFF!!!!!
i am booked on april the seventh. I was told that celebrity will put us on busses to ensanada and I am sure they will get us there I am not worried at all, logic says they cant sell a cruise and not get us to the ship. no worries....
Thanks for the support folks! Believe me, I thought long and hard before "outing" Joey & Connie on the previous thread. But I went ahead with it because it was just too obvious. Joey, Connie and now Jessie have had their fun....they've gotten a good laugh from upsetting everyone. Now it's time for us to ignore them/him/her and get on with why we're here and that's to both learn & share with one another about our passion for cruising!
OK, I'm new at this message board stuff and have been a little naive. I now see that some people will take exception to everything just to keep people responding to their gibberish. Certainly most of us posting messages on these boards are not experts, but we do have personal experiences and knowledge that cumulatively can offer valuable information. Unfortunately, some of these characters are not interested in the information as much at they are in poking the fires of uncertainty. Those of us that are posting “above-board” messages don’t have time for this nonsense.
When I see some of these character’s names on message boards in the future, I'll just assume that, no mater what is said, they wont be satisfied. Therefore, I will not respond to any more postings that are obvious frauds.
This especially goes for those that have posted some of the most outlandish rumors I’ve ever heard. Celebrity, nor any other company would ever tell a customer such trash over the telephone. Even if some of these rumors were true, the information would have been disseminate publicly long before these characters found out about it. Thus, those of us that have a thirst for knowledge about the cruise industry would have already known about it. At least before any of these yahoos posted it on the boards.
Declaration: I plan to be a lot more selective when choosing messages for a response.
When transfer service is contracted by a cruise line or tour operator for one-way transfers, it is not booked as a per person fare. The coaches are booked for "x" amount of hours = "x" fare. "X" fare is paid whether the coach is carrying 5 people or 57.
Coach companies tend to be notoriously slow about getting their bids in on time.
PS My company contracts for over 1000 coaches per year.
