Default Visas

We are taking the May19 eastern Mediterranean cruise on the Millenium from Barcelona to Instanbul. I read on some message board that Turkey requires a visa in addition to a passaport and that it costs $45 per person. Does Celebrity take care of this? Has anyone who has taken a cruise ending up in Turkey had to pay that $45?
Thanks, Yannis

Hi Yannis,
You're travel agent should be able to help you with the visa if you need it. Here is a link to information about visa's that may also help:

I too am on the May 19th sailing to Istanbul. Yes, you do need a visa. We are staying 2 extra days so we needed one. We went to the nearest Turkish consulates website and printed out a form, mailed it in with our passports and 45$ with a return envelope. Took about a week.

We would also be interested in meeting others on this cruise.

Now I am totally confused--do we need a visa if we are disembarking in Istanbul and going straight to flight home.??????

Tony --hope to see you--no promises on drinks. I am getting excited

Visas are only required if you are going to stay in the country after disembarking.
Even if you take a tour organized by the ship, a visa is not required. To be sure
that Turkey is not an exception, suggest your TA can verify it.
