Default Infinity - July 13, 2001

We are sailing on the Infinity July 13 to Alaska. Does anyone have any information on the available shore excursions. Want to book wisely as they are pretty pricey. Thanks Lana

Lana:
Did you book your cruise with a travel agent? If so, he/she can provide you with the shore excursion booklet for Alaska.

The excursions offered by Celebrity are located on thier website. You can view all excursions offered at a specific port with the description and cost. When on Celebrity's website look to the left and you will see excursions.

Hope that helps.

Shore excursions on the Alaska cruises can be minimized more than on most
other itimerarier. Ketchikan is a port where you can walk around the town and
see the important sites without a formal excursion. Juneau is similar, but a trip
to Mendenhall Glacier is good, as is the aireal tram to the top of the mountain
near where the ship docks. Cruising through Glacier Bay and College Fjord is
the most spectacular part of the trip and there are no excursions in those
locations--just beautiful glaciers and hopefully some wild life. But, be sure that
you have warm clothing--the wind can be pretty cold--a hooded coat and gloves
will feel good. We have made four trips to Alaska and are working on our fifth--
it is a unique and beauiful place.

Hello - I saw your message. One of only a very few on the Infinity since it is such a new ship. I am going on the May 11th Alaska inside passage cruise on this ship. Can you give me your evaluation on the cruise, the ship, etc.? Thanks so much!

Kelly

Thanks to all for the information. I hope we're not the only ones on this sailing, haven't heard from anyone else; it is Friday the 13th. Kelly I guess you're sailing May 2002, I'll let you know how we like the ship. Lana

Hello Lana:

You are not alone! We will be also be on the 7-13-01 Alaska Cruise. Good to hear from another fellow traveller. The only thing we have booked is the Orca Enterprises (whale watching cruise) out of Juneau. We got the brochures with tour/merchant coupons, etc. Took about ten days. Here is their coordinates:

Ketchikan Visitor's Bureau
131 Front Street
Ketchikan, Alaska 99901
(800) 770-3300
www.visit-ketchikan.com

Sitka Convention & Visitor's Bureau
PO Box 1226-SVP
Sitka, Alaska 99835
(907) 747-5940
www.sitka.org

Lana, myself, my wife, and father-in-law are in stateroom #9156 on Sky Deck. Would love to hear about your group. It's GREAT to hear from another shipmate, so we can discuss the ship, cruise, tour, and count down the days.

My email is: Twynniep@aol.com Put "Infinity" in the subject line.

Can't hardly wait for lucky Friday, July 13th. JeffreyC

I have a lot of experience touring Alaska after 9 trips. I never take any ship tours and always book direct for savings and better tours. The best of all excursions is a Glacier Helicopter land out of Juneau via Coastal. Look over a shore excursion list and narrow down your interests. Then repost- you'll get a lot of ideas. Happy planning.
