Default Do you have to skip show for speciality restaurant

Do you have to skip the show to go to the speciality restaurant since it is a 3 hour meal? If not, how can you do both?

No, you don't have to skip the show. If you take an early reservation at the specialty restaurant (i.e. 6:30) you can make the late show at 10:30. You should check with the pursers office, though, because on two nights they re-arrange show times. Our meal in the specialty restaurant lasted only 2 1/2 hours, but if you are with a group it may take longer.

We dined with a party of six, at 6:30, and did not get out until 10:45, on our cruise,if you didn't get to the theater before the show started, you were not going to get a seat. Of coarse, we attended early seating shows, so maybe there were less at the 10:30 shows.Regardless, don't let missing one show allow you to miss the S.S.United States. The Elegance, outstanding service, and first rate cuisine, will give you a night you will hold in your memory long after you forget the shows. It was the highlight of my cruise. If you are going to Alaska, you might consider one of the port days for this meal, or wait until the last day at sea. if you get sea sick. The Infinity is the fastest ship on the sea right now, and our captain seemed to need to prove that on rough seas heading to Juneau and Skagway. I mean we were flying!

Should be no problemo with a 6:30 reservation. Trust me.

We had late seating in the main dining room. We chose 8:30 on one of the informal nights, since you cannot dine in the alternative restaurants in formal clothes. Showtime that evening for second seating was early, 7:30, and we had no problem making the 8:30 time. I agree with one of the other writers--long after you've forgotten the shows, you will remember dining in the restaurant. It's one of those experiences you'll cherish. And if you simply MUST see the show and you find the show running into the time you need to be in the restaurant, simply sit near the rear and leave before the show is over.
