I'm going with a group of 7, Istanbul-Barcelona, June 24. Hyper research going on here--looking at private vs. ship tours, transport into Rome, , reliability, getting to the dock on time, etc. Anybody else going? It's fun, but I"m running out of time.

Yeah, another group of 7. We have arranged private tours in each stop - more private, greater flexibility and, on top of that, much cheaper!!!!

Definitely check out Sea Song for tours in Turkey (www.seasong1.com or 1-800-480-9171). See my post about Turkey shore excursions. We just returned and did not enjoy the ship tours, they were too rushed and too crowded and our guide for the tour in Naples (Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii) was downright rude and didn't care if people could keep up with him.

It's a great trip, but an exhausting one if you are like us and want to see everything. Enjoy it!
