Re: Story about Celebrity Specialty Restaurants ..
Hi Pam:
I had the pleasure of dining in the Olympic Restaurant last January. It was quite an experience. The waiters put on quite a show.....reminded me of synchronized swimming......two waiters presenting your meal in perfect unison...never missing a beat. Something that made our experience that much more enjoyable were our tablemates. We had dinner with someone I had been corresponding with through email...someone I met through the "Meet on Board" section of this site.
We had the pleasure of meeting Cindy and Mort on our Millennium cruise and the four of us had a very enjoyable dinner. A wonderful memory I hope to carry with me for a very long time.
I would highly recommend trying the specialty restaurants aboard Celebrity.

Hi Pam...Yes, it is the very same "Cindy and Mort who you know! By the way, your article on the speciality restaurants is terrific. Looking forward to the next installment.
We certainly did have a memorable evening in the Olympic Restaurant on Millie - making it even more special by enjoying it with Mary Lou and Gary. We loved the food and the decor (we ate in the room with the original panels from the sister ship of the Titanic). The funny part of that night is that I don't even remember hearing the music or noticing the string quartet because not only were we really enjoying the outstanding food and service, but we were very busy with our own interesting conversation. Can't wait to try the specialty restaurant (don't know the name of it yet) when we cruise on the Summit in January. Of course, it won't be the same without you, Mary Lou.

Had a very special meal on Mercury not even in a specialty restaurant. Went to the alternate dining (by res only but same menu) and was served by one of the top maitre d staff from the regular restaurant, Flavio. Just lucked out we were treated like royalty with grave & style by a true professional---& he would not even accept a gratuity..

Thanks for the kind words.....you know what...I don't remember the music either. We were so busy chatting away (poor Mort and Gary...did they even get a word in edgewise?)
I wish we were joining you on the Summit for a repeat performance.....maybe someday!

Re: Story about Celebrity Specialty Restaurants ..
Thanks for the info, Pam. I realized after I posted that you did mention the Normandie theme for the Summit in your article. As for the "small worldish stuff" - looks like we both GET AROUND!

Re: Story about Celebrity Specialty Restaurants ..
Well, Mary Lou - maybe they DIDN'T HAVE MUSIC that night! . We were having such a good time, we didn't even notice the RV Guys when they came in for dinner. Never saw them at all - did you?
Re: Story about Celebrity Specialty Restaurants ..
Did you folks make your reservation for the Olympic the moment you got on board? I have heard that it can be difficult to get reservations and you can't book before you leave.
Any chance of making reservations for two nights- one with kids and one without? Suggestions?
