I am sailing the Infinity on 10/13/01 and have booked a 1a cabin (9099) mid ship for a birthday and tenth anniversary celebration!!! My question is this, I recently saw a picture of the Infinity in port in Maui and noticed an immense overhang from the Resort deck above the Sky deck where my cabin is located!! Has anyone stayed on the Sky deck and how bad does that overhang from above block your sunlight or view??? Anyone, please advise!
My wife and I were in cabin 9088 on the Millennium (Infinity sister ship) last summer in the Baltic and found the overhang to only be slightly troublesome. It does block your view looking up into the sky a little more than say being one floor down. But the overhang would continue to block some views even from deck 8 and 7.
We are booked on the Infinity this summer to Alaska and took a Cat 1b on deck 8 to see if it makes a difference. If I were you I would not change at this point. If the Infinity is as well run as the other Celeb ships you will have a wonderful time.
We are booked on the Summit for March 2002 and we were booked in cabins 9094 and 9096. After doing alot of reading indicating the sun does not venture onto these balconies, we immediatly changed our rooms to 7187 and 89 on the VIsta deck, they look great to me. They are about 6 in from the rear and the sun seems to be able to shine on these decks.
Just a person opinion
We are booked in a 1A cabin on Infinity for the Caribbean next year and for me shade is great! I'll be avoiding the sun every step of the way down there for the basic reason of avoiding skin cancer. If there were sun on the veranda, it would be hard for me to sit out there.
