Has anyone stayed in either cabin (category 1C)?? Each cabin is located between Royal Suites on the Penthouse Deck. Is the balcony as large as it looks?? Is the cabin the same size as other category 1 cabins??
I am interested in finding out the same information for cabin 6136. I am booked for Southern Carribean on Infinty and they assigned me room 6136. When I asked the agent about the size of the room compared to other 1c cabins, I was told that all 1c cabins are identical.
We stayed in a 2c -- and the balconies are twice as big as the 1 c's the further forward you are-- are further aft-- You cannot tell f rom the brochure how big the balconies are-- I hope you get a r esponse if the size of the balcony or room makes a difference to you.
My wife and I sailed on the 5/11 Infinity and were upgraded to the Royal Suite Rm 6138 on the Penthouse Deck. The verandas on 6135 & 36 were good size and did not have the overhang on the 1B & 1C's higher up. Next time I'm booking the Celebrity Suite toward the middle of the ship. We had some rough water the second night out of Vancouver and we were tossed around quite a bit in the aft section of the ship. Other than that the deck was very quiet and close to the dining rooms on decks 5 and 6.
What category did you book when you were upgraded to the Royal Suite? We are deciding between cabin #6136 and a guaranteed 1A with the hopes of an upgrade to a suite. We are sailing Dec. 15, 2001.
We booked a category 1C on the Vista Deck, Room 7182 and we were surprisingly upgraded to the Royal Suite which is 4 categories. My travel agent was quite surprised when I mentioned the upgrade. 1 or 2 category is the normal not a 4 category.
Thanks for all the information. It sounds like you had an assigned cabin--I didn't think they upgraded in that case. My decision is whether or not to take what looks to be a good 1C cabin-#6136 with a larger balcony or chance the upgrade to a suite. I can't decide whether or not the ship will fill up for the week of Dec. 15. What time of year did you sail??
We booked the 5/11 Inside Passage from Vancouver which was the first cruise after the repositioning from the Hawaii cruises.
Room 6136 is squeezed between the two Royal Suites on the starboard side and directly across from the aft elevators.....a little noisy but a very nice room. Balcony is good size for the category.
We are booking the Southern Caribbean in 2002 on the Infinity but we are moving further toward the front and higher up on the ship....probably a Celebrity Suite. We hit some rough water the 2nd night out and were tossed around quite a bit. Didn't have seasickness but hard to sleep and navigate around the ship. Much smoother in the Constellation Lounge up front. Having stayed in a Royal Suite on our first ever cruise, we've decided to spring for a suite on any future cruises.
COuld enlighten me as to what the verandah for your 7185 was like compared to a 7179, is it the same size as yours? I guess it would just be 2 cabins from yours, was yours closer to the aft of the ship?
Thanks for the information. We are booked in #6136 on the Infinity for December 15. I was hoping the balcony was large!! Do you remember what kind of chairs were provided on this veranda?? Does it get some sun??
