You can use the cruise transfer but you will be on the bus waiting for it to fill. I always drive home to Miami, but my daughter grabs a cab and goes to the airport, a 10 minute ride away.
Many times the airlines have representatives at the pier and after clearing
customs they will check your luggage and transport it to the airport. The cruise
transfers usually work very well and there are no unusual delays. If you book your
flight too close to the time of disembarkation--that is another story
Taxi is only $10 per cab not per person like a transfer and it will take less than 10 minutes to get to Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Transfers take up your valuable time especially if you have an early departure.
Bon Voyage
Nanatravel is right again, as always. I also prefer to take a cab in F.L. from port to airport. It's always been a lot less hassle than doing the cruise transfer. There will be plenty of cabs when you get off ship. Enjoy your cruise!
