Default pre- cruise hotels

Hi, We are traveling on the summit in Feb with the kids. What is a good pre cruise hotel to stay at near the port? also last time we cruised it took 2 hours to board, How can we some of the first ones boarding the ship. One more thing, what is the best way to get to the hotel and to the port, transfers or our own transportion such as a taxi or some shuttle service. Any recommendations? Thanks Don

Are you talking about the Caribbean or Alaska? And what port are you sailing from?

Not sure which port you are referring to but if its FLL we booked the Embassy Suites. There are three of us and the Embassy has a separate bedroom. The have a shuttle from the airport also to the cruise ship terminal. They are not far from the dock.

If u've cruise Celebrity before, I'd recommend joining the Captain's Club. $35 fee per family.. gets u a 1 category upgrade, and priority embarkation and debarkation.

If not, to avoid long waits for embarkation.. either go early.. around 10:30 or11 AM of wait til about 3 PM..and u can likely walk right on.

As suggested.. Embassy Suites is pretty decent, and offers the free shuttle service (though the shuttle does get busy and can cause a wait) or the Marriott Marina (request a dock view and u wake up in the morning to see all the ships sitting at the pier). Marriott doesnt have a shuttle.. but its a short taxi ride to the pier.
