Default What is the best time for a return flight?

What is the best time to schedule a flight home after the cruise from Ft. Lauderdale?

In order to avoid the anxiety and frustration of late arrival or delayed disembark-
ation we never schedule a flight before noon on the day of arrival.

Hi Sharon,
I have to agree with Lew, anytime around noon should be good, although I understand the pier and the airport in Ft. Lauderdale are right next to each other, so the ride to the airport will definately be a short one. Have a great cruise.

Your TA should be able to get this info for you, I believe Celebrity says, arrival by 2:30pm and departure after 11am. The pier and airport are very close to each other.

Noon or later is really the safest choice. For earlier flights, you can arrange on board for an early disembarkation... unless you have air from the cruise line, in which case, not to worry!

I have always booked a flight after 11:00 am - and once I was at the airport by 8:30 am for a 12:40 flight and I was able to go standby on an earlier flight and it was wonderful!

They get you off the ship very early. Last cruise, I was off before 7am. The airport in St. L is right less than 5 min. away. Book a return flight as early as 9 or 10 am and you'll be fine.

That time isn't engraved in stone. When we disembark depends on a number of things. We returned to Ft. Lauderdale from our Amsterdam Panama Canal cruise. It took one non US resident forever to haul himself out of bed and go to customs. He held everybody up. My daughter was on a 3:00PM flight to Washington, DC so she was fine. I live in Miami and just grabbed a cab. It didn't matter for us but anyone scheduled to fly before noon would have had problems.
